I have 30 years of field experience and over 1500 hours of factory training and am fully licensed and insured. I’ve built my career and reputation on identifying and implementing strategies for the effective control of HVAC and Refrigeration systems. It’s how you maximize efficiency while achieving comfort levels and maintaining product integrity. I understand the role and configuration of control components and will develop robust strategies to help you maximize efficiency.
SEQUENCE OF OPERATION
Today’s equipment and systems may seem complicated, but once understood, they become merely complex. I know the importance of documenting the operation of these systems and will create a thorough and easy to follow Sequence of Operation. My detailed documentation will save you; your staff; and your contractors time and frustration when an issue arises.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY ANALYSIS
Knowledge is power! You need to understand how your equipment functions as designed, to ensure you achieve the greatest energy efficiencies possible. To reach these potentials requires knowledge of the components and how they operate as a system. A majority of all mechanical failures are from improper installation; lack of commissioning; or improper operation. I will analyze your equipment and systems and provide documentation to help you operate at peak efficiency and avoid mechanical failures.

ABOUT ME
My family and I moved to Brattleboro in 1990, when I purchased The Real Scoop ice cream business, but I’ve always had a passion for mechanical systems. In 1996, after nearly 20 years in the ice cream industry, I completed a one-year program in HVAC/R (97.0 GPA) and began my career in the HVAC, Refrigeration and Controls industry.
I honed my skills during the 22 years I worked for A.L. Tyler & Sons in Brattleboro while earning my Licenses and Certifications.
In 2019 I was recruited by Efficiency Vermont and worked as an Energy Consultant - helping businesses take advantage of energy saving opportunities and financial incentives. It was meaningful and important work, but my true skills and passion are problem solving HVAC, Refrigeration and Control systems.
In March 2021, I launched KAPLAN HVAC SOLUTIONS, LLC. I offer Diagnosis, Analysis, Strategies, Equipment Selection, Start-up, Retro-Commissioning, Technical Documentation and General Consultation in all brands of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration equipment.
I am also skilled in Control strategies, installation, configuration and programming.
